Quality Control & Testing
PuroFlow implements quality control throughout the entire lifecycle of sanitary stainless steel tubing and fittings. From incoming raw material inspection and in-process patrol checks to finished product release, we have established a standardized and traceable inspection system. It complies with hygienic fluid industry specifications including 3A, ASME BPE, ASTM A270 and FDA 21 CFR, ensuring our products suit high-demand sterile working conditions for pharmaceutical, biotech fermentation, dairy, craft beverage and other applications.
- Raw Material Verification Upon receipt of all stainless steel coils, PMI material identification is first performed using an XRF spectrometer to verify the composition of grades such as 304, 316L and duplex stainless steel. This prevents mixed materials or downgraded stock from entering production. Material certificates are archived for every batch to achieve full traceability from raw material to finished goods.
- Mechanical Property Testing We are equipped with micro-hardness testing instruments. Sampled tubing and fittings undergo hardness spot checks to verify mechanical stability. This guarantees structural reliability under fluctuating pressure and temperature and avoids deformation or cracking during service.
- Surface Roughness Inspection (Core for Sanitary Products) Hygienic fluid systems impose strict limits on internal surface roughness Ra. We use professional roughness testers to take fixed-point measurements on the polished inner surfaces of tubing and fittings. This controls internal polishing quality, reduces dead zones and the risk of product adhesion, and meets the requirements for sterile process fluid transfer.
- Dimensional Tolerance Inspection Finished tubing and fittings are sampled batch by batch with calipers and precision measuring tools for key dimensions including profile, bore diameter, ferrule face and wall thickness. Tight tolerance control ensures proper fit during on-site assembly and eliminates unwanted gaps and dead legs at piping joints.
- Corrosion Resistance Test For working conditions with repeated CIP/SIP sanitization using acidic and alkaline cleaning agents, we carry out immersion corrosion tests in the laboratory. These tests validate the corrosion performance of stainless steel under cleaning chemicals for long-term service in recurring sanitization cycles.
- Laboratory Analysis & Passivation Validation Our in-house physical and chemical laboratory conducts supporting tests covering pickling-passivation performance, surface cleanliness and metal leaching. We confirm uniform and stable passive films to reduce the risk of ion leaching and meet the non-contamination requirements for food and pharmaceutical process media.
Original test records are kept for all inspection items. COA certificates, material test reports and roughness inspection reports can be supplied together with shipments. Third-party inspection and third-party laboratory testing are acceptable. Samples are available upon request for customer validation.
PuroFlow’s quality goal: more than merely meeting standards, we ensure every sanitary piping component reliably supports your sterile process validation.
