Description

316L Sanitary Stainless Steel Tubing

PuroFlow supplies 316L stainless steel sanitary tubing and also offers 316 stainless steel sanitary tubing grades as an option.

This sanitary tubing belongs to sanitary stainless steel tubing and is also commonly called stainless sanitary tubing or hygienic stainless steel tube. Under chlorine-containing cleaning media and acidic material conditions, its corrosion resistance is superior to that of 304 sanitary tubing. It is widely used in sanitary fluid transfer systems in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, dairy, fine chemical, and other industries, and supports CIP clean-in-place.316 stainless steel sanitary tubing dimensions

Material Grades and Corrosion Resistance Differences

  • 316L: Low-carbon version, with stronger resistance to intergranular corrosion, suitable for frequent high-temperature disinfection and acid cleaning conditions;

  • 316: Conventional carbon content, more cost-effective, suitable for conventional sanitary fluid conditions.

The tubing is polished inside and outside; weld seams are ground smooth without dead corners, reducing microbial adhesion.

Typical Application Scenarios

  • Pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical production lines

  • Dairy, juice, and brewing production lines

  • Transfer of acidic materials in fine chemicals

  • Seawater and disinfectant-containing cleaning loops

  • Purified water and ultrapure water transfer lines

FAQ H3: How to choose between 316L sanitary tubing and 304 sanitary tubing?

316L stainless steel sanitary tubing has stronger resistance to chloride ions and acidic media corrosion and is preferred for systems whose cleaning process contains bleach or nitric acid pickling; for ordinary food clean-water transfer scenarios, please refer to our 304 stainless steel sanitary tubing page.

Can you provide 2″, 4″, and 8″ large-diameter 316L sanitary tubing?

Standard inventory covers 2″ and 4″ sizes; 8″ large-diameter tubing is custom-produced. You are welcome to provide drawings for a quotation.

Can the surface polish grade of 316L sanitary tubing be customized?

Various Ra finish levels can be customized, and inspection reports can be provided to meet FDA and 3A sanitary requirements.
